'Tāngata Whaikaha' print, designed by Huriana Kopeke-Te Aho. Printed on A4 200gsm matte card.

"This concept is based on the term tāngata whaikaha - one translation being 'having strength'. The main image/design is mangopare - a design based on the hammerhead shark Mangopare represents strength, courage, leadership and unrelenting determination.  The top and bottom of the mangopare also contains kōiri which represents community, protection and the idea of intergenerational care and nurture.

The 'x' design in the middle of the mangopare is called 'purapura whetu' or 'star seeds' - this design represents community and the idea that we have to be as numerous as the stars in the night sky in order to not only survive but thrive. The kōwhai is a subtle reference to the sunflower as a symbol for hidden disabilities, the kōwhai in an Aotearoa context representing Te Rā. The kawakawa leaves represent strength, courage and protection." - Huriana Kopeke-Te Aho

Prints will be sent by 26th September.
